So a couple crazy events have happened since last letter. Well only one but the other one i sent pics to mom.
So the first was the hurricane clean up, those where the pics of what we helped clean up. And the other more exciting news is that we have changes tomorrow and elder rowan willno long er be my comp. I really don´t know what happened this time because usually changes are today and we hear about them saturday night. But for some unknown reason they were delayed until sunday night and now changes are on tuesday. So i´m kind of anxious to see what the delay was. So this is my last day with Elder Rowan. It has been a lot of funto get to know him, and learn from him. Its always interesting with a new comp because one learns something different from every companion.
And this week in Santo Tomas was good. We had interviews with presidente and that helped a lot. Its always good to hear from him and know what he wants from us and how to improve ourselves. At the interviews he had us watch this cut from a movie about what our potential really is. IT was fairly motivating.
This week we worked a lot with menos activos and have found a sweet family, the familia Lemus. They were baptized 5 years ago and stopped coming like for 3 years. But now some things have changed and feel like they need to come back. They still have thier testimonies but need that spark to become faithful agian. But super nice people. I have found that the key to our area will be the menos activos and part member familias. More the menos activos because onlyabout 10 percent of those on the membership role come to church once a month. And those that come every week are about 30ish. The rest are those that come and don´t so our assitence flucuatnes a lot. But the key to success like Elder Martino said when he came by is that we just have to open up our eyes because the people that are prepared are all around us.
Also we found this familia of a semi active member, they´re all really sweet. The dad is a huge star wars fan so we talked about that and how we grew up on that. Really nice guy but he just doesn´t bring his family to church, they would come but just need a bit of a push, as in told what to do. THe kids that is. A lot of parents here have the bad conception that kids need to have the choice to choose what to do. But really when it comes to important things they need to be told and made to do it. Like school and church, two things people here think aren´t that important if thier kids don´t do either them. So needless to say the family needs a little work but the good news is that his cousin is a RM and super strong in the branchso we hope that will help out a lot.
Well thats another week in Santo Tomas
Con amor
Elder Blaszczyk
