So today we went on a hike with a member from the rama. He told us of this one hike that just had an absolute to die for view. SO we decided to go do that and get just sick pics, as in see all of izabal. So we started out, now the member hadn´t been for 2 years so we had to remember a little bit the trail. So we got to the place where we enter the protected area and there were signs all about it and there were the guards there. Oh the family that lives on the mountain and gards it. So they gave permissioin to go and gave us a machete to us. They appernently had just moved there 3 months ago and didn´t know exactly their jobs. Because if they had they would have told us that this trail we took had been closed for about a year and they had opened up another one. Because i got to say this was pure jungle we hiked through. We had to machete our way through the trail and had just been overgrown a bunch, amazing what happens in one year. I guess last year the trail was still maintained so that cars could go up. The reason being theres some telephone torres up there so its necesary to go up. So we climb for 3 and a half hours. Along the way we see 2 snakes a couple birds and lizards. Everything just beautiful but we still didn´t have a good vista just trees and forest is what we could see. So we get, as we learn later, 15 minutes from the top and there we see it. WE just had to climb over a fallen tree and climb 15 minutes and we would´ve been there. But on the tree was a viper, and it was HUGE. Our member friend who took us up is all that is a big snake and thats the most venomous of guatemala. So we took some pics and decided not to risk going around it, and we went back down. When we went back down we met some of the people who work and maintain the towers, they told us that we were just about 15 minutes away. Freak but its okay we now know where the other road is so if theres no cambios were goin next week to the vista. But it was so sweet, it was pure indiana jones there. The spiders were everywhere, and we´re talking spiders as big as your hand. I got a bunch of photos so i´ll send you them next week. So that was our adventure today, it took forever but it was well worth it.
Now investigadores, so you know that mom that had the dream last week. Well apparently the dad also has been having dreams, basically it was the holy ghost telling him that he needs to go to church or he´ll end up with nothing. It was real neat to listen to but he took like an hour explaining every little detail to us. So that was neat. Also there´s this other family, family alvarado, sweet family just the dads a bum and doesn´t want to get married to we´ll see how it goes. But the wife is way excited to see us, apparently the husband has never been excited for church or anything religious during their marraige and now we come along and he´ll listen. So i hope we can be the answer to somebody´s prayers. Also we started teaching sandra again, i´ve mentioned here like 2 months ago, she wasnt progressing so we dropped her. Now we´ve come back and shes way excited to see us. We put a fecha with her but she still has a lot of doubts. Shes the one that kind of stole my illustrated bom but i think i´m just going to give it to her because she can´t read but she really wants to learn and it helps her out a lot. Her sons read it to her along with the real BOM and she just follows along with the pictures.
That´s been my week, its actually just flown by and i´m really enjoying my time here i hope i get another change here.
